Qazaqstan Investment Corporation becomes investor in TVM Healthcare Southeast Asia Fund

Qazaqstan Investment Corporation JSC (the QIC, a subsidiary of Baiterek NMH JSC) will be one of the anchor investors in the TVM Healthcare SEA Fund (the Fund) together with TVM Capital Healthcare Partners Pte. Ltd.

The Fund focuses on underserved market segments where demand is high and supply is limited, including, among others, acute care rehabilitation services, women's health, diabetes and oncology care, and the production of essential pharmaceuticals. By meeting these urgent needs, the Fund strengthens the sustainability of healthcare as an investment sector and its fundamental role in economic and social development.

The total investment volume of the Fund is expected to reach USD 200 million, including up to USD40 million earmarked for projects in Kazakhstan.

QIC will participate in the Fund as a limited partner. The Fund will operate for a period of seven years, with the possibility of extending for three additional periods of 12 months each. The Fund's geographical scope covers Southeast Asian countries, with a particular focus on Kazakhstan.

The establishment of the Fund is in line with the objectives set out in the Address of the Head of State K.-Z. Tokayev on September 1, 2022, which emphasized the need for comprehensive improvement of medical infrastructure in Kazakhstan.

In the context of growing demand for high-quality medical services, Kazakhstan demonstrates significant potential for attracting international investment and sustainable development of the healthcare sector.
