100 days of Didar Karimsakov as Chairman of the Management Board of Qazaqstan Investment Corporation JSC

In March 2025 Didar Karimsakov was appointed Chairman of the Management Board of Qazaqstan Investment Corporation JSC (QIC, the Corporation) by the resolution of the Sole Shareholder - Baiterek National Managing Holding JSC. 

QIC is the main institution that develops the private equity market in Kazakhstan. The Corporation is also focused on the development of the venture capital ecosystem. 

During his first three months as Chairman of the Management Board, the Corporation established five private equity and venture capital funds for the first time in several years. These funds will involve financing for various projects in priority sectors of Kazakhstan's economy. Among them, manufacturing and mining and metallurgical industries, “green” technologies, support of agricultural producers, healthcare in the field of reproductive health, as well as IT-startups.  

As part of the domestic manufacturers support, QIC has financed several projects in the production of paint and varnish materials, as well as the production of metering devices.  

Agreements were reached on QIC's participation in the Construction of a combined cycle power plant in the Mangistau region. The planned capacity of the new power plant will be 160 MW which will significantly increase the volume of electricity generated and contribute to covering the deficit in the region.   

QIC will continue to work to develop the private equity market and finance projects in non-resource sectors of the economy through the equity financing instruments.
